Account deletion

Delete your SnapExpense account from inside the app.

You can request account deletion in SnapExpense. The process is designed to end access promptly while protecting necessary shared financial history.

What happens after successful deletion?

Account access ends immediately. Authentication sessions are revoked, identity information is anonymized, and cleanup may continue for up to 30 days.

1. Start in SnapExpense

Open SnapExpense and use the account or settings area to request account deletion. Follow the confirmation steps in the app and review the information shown before you confirm.

2. What is removed or anonymized

  • Access to the account ends immediately after successful deletion.
  • Authentication sessions and tokens are revoked.
  • Identity information is anonymized and personal profile details are minimized.
  • Personal account data without a necessary retention requirement is scheduled for cleanup.
  • The cleanup window may take up to 30 days.

3. What may remain

Some shared financial or accounting history may remain in minimized anonymous form for ledger integrity, reconciliation, or consistency for other users. Retained history must not expose your original email, name, phone number, address, avatar, or authentication information.

Temporary receipt scan records use a 24-hour expiry baseline. Provider-side retention is governed by the relevant provider and is not given a fixed period here unless established.

4. If you use a Company Workspace

Company Member

You may delete your account without deleting the Company’s shared financial history. Necessary shared history may remain anonymous.

Company Owner with remaining members

You must transfer ownership to an eligible existing member before deleting your account.

Company Owner with no remaining members

You must close the Company before completing account deletion.

5. After deletion

The original email may later be used to create a new SnapExpense account. A newly registered account is a new account and does not restore deleted-account data.

6. If you cannot access the app

If you cannot access the app, contact support@getsnapexpense.com for assistance. We may need to verify your request before account-related changes can be made.

Do not email passwords, authentication codes, financial records, or other sensitive credentials. Emailing support does not by itself immediately delete an account.
